In late 2011 a bunch of local BMX riders and I decided to work on making an edit for Touchwood here in Cork. Not only were the guys eager to make a video, I had just recently purchased my first DSLR camera (Nikon D7000) so I really wanted to try out it's video capability which was quite a new thing at time.
I filmed with the guys from November 2011 to late-January 2012 where all of us (including myself) had put in some work to learn new tricks, ride new lines and just push ourselves overall to make our best video possible for the Irish Bmx community to see.
This video is still one of my most significant projects to date. Not only was it my first time doing a lot of things like making this video by myself, filming with a DSLR or making something for YouTube. It also marked the end of the old-school days like recording to tape, log and capture or burning disks. I was really glad to
Almost everything I did was a new experience when filming and cutting this video e.g filming with a DSLR, using a steadicam or filming something for Youtube. But I was extremely lucky to have the chance to make a video with new equipment, good friends and a sport I love since I was 10 (its 2017 I'm 26 now =D ). Although the quality of work has got better and production value increases, Touchwood BMX will always be the measuring stick which I measure how happy I am with future projects for years to come!
