Over the duration of the year I have been approached by Crossfit Ballincollig co-owners, John and Brian Nagle to produce a number of graphic & promotional materials from things like in-house events, club outings and training apparel.
January 2017 - CFB Trip to Cardiac Hill in Killarney, Co. Kerry
Two promotional graphics were created, one for online use (left) and the other to be printed for the gym noticeboard (right).
August 2017 - Faith's 5 x 5 Throw-down
The second promotional banner was created to promote a same-sex partner's Crossfit competition
Crossfit Ballincollig needed a something to promote a competition to help raise funds for the Hope for Faith Foundation. I was again asked to produce something which John and Brian could use to invite other gyms in the surrounding region to compete.
October 2017 - CFB Apparel
John asked me if I could come up with a few different designs that could be used to create a coaches t-shit. After several designs, John and Brian were quite fond of one particular design that they decided to also produce them for their gym members as well. A small 6cm crest was created for printing on training fleeces and the same logo was enlarged for a t-shirt design which members could wear at competitions.
The chosen design was partly inspired by traditional American police and first-responder crests. So the intention was to take advantage of Crossfit Ballincollig’s pre-existing white, and yellow/gold logo colours to design something new and pair it with a navy t-shirt. The goal of the design was to invoke feelings of leadership, responsibility and authority, traits that a good sports should display. A more mono-chromatic version of the logo was created with the intention of being used with darker-coloured clothing or turned into a vinyl decal in mind.
Alternative Designs - CFB Apperal
Four other designs were created that Crossfit Ballincollig could use for clothing. The idea behind them were to slightly move away from any of their pre-exisitng clothing designs/branding and create designs that could be used for more casual wear outside the gym. e.g. on a non-active wear type of material or a traditional baseball 3/4 t-shirt.
The other four designs consist of two proposed circular designs that could be used on the pocket of a t-shirt and two typographical designs which use an old postcard style and another with more modern and skinny type font. All designs were resized to the desired scale and given to John and Brian for future use.
Over the last few years I have been fortunate enough to form a strong relationship with Crossfit Ballincollig, receiving a steady amount of work over that time. Im looking forward working with them in the future to help them visualise any ideas they may have in the years to come.
